Law enforcement authorities in Cyprus are investigating two separate overnight fires involving parked vehicles in Limassol and Paphos between Saturday night and early Sunday morning. The blazes resulted in severe damage to one vehicle and the complete destruction of another, prompting local police departments and the Cyprus Fire Service to launch full inquiries into the causes.
The first incident occurred late Saturday evening, October 24, at approximately 11:30 PM in the Agios Tychonas area of Limassol. Emergency services were alerted to a car on fire while parked in the neighborhood. Fire Service crews quickly arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the flames, but the vehicle had already sustained extensive damage. Officers from the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) returned to the location on Sunday to carry out detailed investigations and collect physical evidence.
Just a few hours later, at around 3:00 AM on Sunday, October 25, authorities received a second emergency call regarding a burning parked car in the Emba area of Paphos. Firefighters responded swiftly to extinguish the blaze, but the flames had already consumed the entire vehicle, leaving it completely destroyed. Investigators from Paphos CID have taken over the scene to conduct examinations and determine the exact origin of the fire.
Unexplained vehicle fires occurring late at night in residential neighborhoods across Limassol and Paphos remain a serious concern for local motorists and vehicle owners. Police urge members of the public who may have noticed suspicious activity in Agios Tychonas or Emba during the overnight hours to contact their local police station or call the official police helpline with any relevant information.
