Paphos Police Hunt Driver After Elderly Couple Injured in Kissonerga Hit-and-Run

Police in Paphos are searching for a female driver who fled the scene after her vehicle struck an elderly couple on the Kissonerga coastal road on Saturday night. According to witness accounts and initial police inquiries, the vehicle collided with the two pedestrians under circumstances that remain under active investigation by local traffic officers.

Following the impact, an ambulance was dispatched to the scene and transported the couple to the hospital for medical attention. Attending medical staff confirmed that, although both pedestrians sustained injuries in the crash, their condition is not considered life-threatening.

The driver left the area immediately after the collision without stopping to render assistance or contact emergency services. Police officers are currently collecting evidence and examining witness statements along the coastal corridor to trace the vehicle, determine its registration, and locate the woman responsible for the incident.

Authorities remind all Cyprus motorists that leaving the scene of an accident is a grave offence under national traffic law, carrying severe legal penalties including heavy fines, licence suspension, and potential imprisonment. Anyone who was travelling along the Kissonerga coastal road on Saturday evening or possesses relevant information is urged to contact local police.
