The PSI Foundation opens a new cultural chapter in Nicosia’s Old City with the exhibition “Objects in the mirror may be closer than they appear”. Running from 2 October to 2 November 2026 the show is curated by Evagoria Dapola. The project brings together fourteen works by nine artists creating an immersive urban experience that blends analogue and digital media.
The exhibition title directly references the familiar warning found on car mirrors reminding drivers that objects may appear farther than they truly are. Works range from intimate pieces to large scale installations each exploring perception and distance. The dialogue with the concurrent “Bill Viola” exhibition adds a contemporary artistic context inviting visitors to compare visual narratives across different media.
For Cyprus drivers and vehicle owners the show offers a reflective moment on road safety and visual awareness. The warning’s message resonates beyond the windshield encouraging a deeper look at how we interpret signals on the road and in everyday life. The exhibition’s location in the historic Old City ensures high visibility for commuters and tourists alike.
