Limassol Delivery Rider Injured After Being Struck by Object Thrown on Road

A 22-year-old motorcycle delivery rider suffered a broken nose and a head laceration on Friday evening after an unknown object was thrown at him while riding in Limassol. The dangerous incident took place at approximately 7:30 pm as the courier was travelling along a city road to complete a delivery run. The sudden impact struck the young man in the face, causing immediate injuries while he was actively navigating traffic.

According to the official complaint lodged with law enforcement late Friday night, the projectile appeared to have been launched from a nearby street where a group of young people had gathered. The injured rider managed to get to Limassol General Hospital, where medical staff confirmed he had sustained a fractured nose along with a severe head wound. After receiving essential first aid treatment, the 22-year-old was officially discharged.

Police officers dispatched to the location carried out detailed scene examinations following the report. The Limassol Criminal Investigation Department has officially taken over the case and is actively pursuing leads to identify those responsible for the hazardous throw.

The incident underscores persistent safety challenges faced by motorcycle couriers operating across Cyprus urban centers, particularly during busy evening shifts. Transport safety advocates point out that throwing objects at moving two-wheelers poses severe risks of catastrophic crashes, making such acts a grave threat to all motorists on Cyprus roads.
