Helmet Prevents Injury as Limassol Delivery Rider Robbed on Agias Fylaxeos Street

A 22-year-old food delivery worker escaped serious injury early Wednesday morning when his protective helmet shielded him during a targeted robbery along Agias Fylaxeos Street in Limassol. The incident occurred at approximately 3:00 AM while the young man was cycling through the area to deliver a food order. Investigators say four individuals riding on two black motorcycles pulled up alongside him before staging the assault.

According to a formal complaint lodged with the police, one of the perpetrators struck the delivery rider directly on the head with their hands. Despite the physical blow, the victim suffered no injuries thanks to his protective headgear absorbing the force. The attackers forcibly seized the rider's wallet containing cash and personal belongings before speeding away from the scene on their motorbikes.

Officers from the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department (CID) immediately launched an inquiry into the robbery and are currently working to identify the suspects. Law enforcement authorities are appealing to anyone who was traveling along Agias Fylaxeos Street around the time of the attack, or who may have dashcam footage of two black motorcycles in the vicinity, to contact the police.

The incident underlines the ongoing safety challenges faced by late-night courier and delivery riders navigating urban roads across Cyprus cities. Police and road safety advocates continue to emphasize that wearing proper protective equipment remains essential for all two-wheeler users on public roads.
